This is not a food review....
But, I had to share this.
I passed by Stall 79 at Changi Village Hawker Centre many (many) times and noticed people eating Ayam Bakar with Rice from extra large plates. I was tempted to ask the makcik at the stall "Makcik, Makcik...what big plates you have?"; but never have I thought of eating the food from the stall.
Anyway, imagined Makcik would answer "The better to eat from.....lah!".
I am not a big fan of chicken rice/ ayam penyet, but decided to take-away the Ayam Bakar Sambal Pecel from the stall. Brought home and couldn't find a plate big enough, so I used the Dulang (tray).
And, I was pleasantly surprised and utterly pleased with the dish. For S$4, I get a tray of rice with a generous portion of grilled chicken thigh, sambal pecel, sambal kacang (peanut sauce), onions+pineapple+chillies in soy sauce and 3 whole slices of cucumber (yes, you heard right...Three Whole Slices of Cucumber ;-)).
And yes, they were delicious!!!
Here, we share some of our Halal eatery finds.
